One can practice winter sports in almost all the mountain areas of the county of Suceava, but the homologated ski slopes exist only in seven places, which are the resorts of Vatra Dornei, Gura Humorului, Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Cârlibaba, Mălini, Sucevița, but also in the Mestecăniș Step.

In Vatra Dornei, there are slopes for skiing and for snowboarding, the longest one being the slope Dealu Negru (also known as the ski-lift slope), which is a red slope, with a medium level of difficulty; it is 3200 meters long and it disposes of an artificial snow plant.

The slope disposes of a chair lift. The climbing time of the chair lift is between 20 and 25 minutes, time in which the tourists can admire the picturesque views over the massifs that surround the depression. One can make use of the chair lift all over the year, but in the summer and winter months it is the most requested.

The slope Park 1 is a red slope, with a medium level of difficulty, having a length of 900 meters, and a level of elevation of 28.5%.  It is disposed of a ski lift and a baby-lift, but also of night lights and snow guns. The slope is situated near the Central Park and it is one of the most visited slopes in the area.

Poienița slope(also known as the slope Park 2), is following up the slope Park 1; it is a blue slope, with a low level of difficulty, having a length of 550 meters and an elevation difference of 100 meters; it is disposed of a ski lift and a baby-lift, but also of night lights and snow guns. Also, Poienița slope benefits of a favorable width for beginners and for children.

Gura Humorului

Șoimul 1 slope (the Recreational Complex Ariniș) is a red slope with a medium difficulty level; it is 1462 meters long and has an average elevation of 20% and an elevation difference of 283 meters. The slope disposes of night lights and snow guns. The way to the peak can be gone through by using a four-seat chair lift, with an average time of climbing of 25 minutes. The chair lift can be also used during the summer.

Șoimul 2 slope(also known as Șoimuleț) is a blue slope, with a low difficulty level; it is 500 meters long, has an elevation level of 20% and the elevation difference is 70 meters. To access the slope, one can use the chair lift, as the slopes have a common starting place.

Câmpulung Moldovenesc

In the town named Câmpulung Moldovenesc there are numerous slopes available, but the most important one is the slope situated in the Rarău Massif, which has been recently fitted out.

The Rarău 1 slope from Rarău-Câmpulung Moldovenesc is a blue-red slope, with a low-medium level of difficulty; it is 2800 meters long and has an elevation level of 16.6%. The slope disposes of an aerial tramway and snow guns.

The Rarău 2 slope from Rarău-Câmpulung Moldovenesc is still in the process of fitting out, following up the Rarău 1 slope. It is a red slope, with a medium level of difficulty and is designed to have a lenght of 1649 meters.

Other slope located in Câmpulung Moldovenesc is the Runc slope (Runcu), which has a medium level of difficulty and is 430 meters long. It has an elevation level of 20% and is disposed of a ski lift. The Runc 1 slope has a medium level of difficulty and is 410 meters long, with an elevation level of 18%; it disposes of a baby ski.

The Runc 2 slope has a medium level of difficulty and is 400 meters long, with an elevation level of 21%; it also disposes of a baby ski.

The former Rarău slope, with a low level of difficulty, is 300 meters long and it disposes of a ski lift.

Cârlibaba

There are two officially homologated slopes in Cârlibaba resort, which are Măgura 1 and Măgura 2.

Măgura 1 slope is a red slope, with a medium level of difficulty and it is 1000 meters long. It has an elevation level of 21% and an elevation difference of 207 meters. It disposes of a ski lift.

Măgura 2 slope is a red slope, with a medium level of difficulty and it is 535 meters long. It has an elevation level of 24% and an elevation difference of 125 meters. It disposes of a ski lift as well.

Mălini

The slopes located in Mălini are usually sought by the ski and snowboard enthusiasts, due to both the low-medium level of difficulty and the affordable prices.

Mălini 1 slope is a blue-red slope, with a low-medium level of difficulty and it is 800 meters long. It has an elevation level of 19% and an elevation difference of 106 meters. It disposes of night lights and ski lift.

Mălini 2 slope is fitted out parallel to the first slope. It is a blue-red slope, with a low-medium level of difficulty and it is 600 meters long. It has an elevation level of 19% and an elevation difference of 106 meters.

Drumul Tătarilor A slope is a blue slope, with a low level of difficulty and it is 1076 meters long. It has an elevation level of 13% and an elevation difference of 139 meters. It disposes of a ski lift.

Drumul Tătarilor B slope is a red slope, with a medium level of difficulty and it is 876 meters long. It has an elevation level of 25% and an elevation difference of 139 meters. It is also disposed of a ski lift.

Drumul Tătarilor C slope is a red slope, with a medium level of difficulty and it is 685 meters long. It has an elevation level of 22% and an elevation difference of 139 meters. It is disposed of a ski lift.

Drumul Tătarilor D slope is a black slope, with a high level of difficulty and it is 421 meters long. It has an elevation level of 33% and an elevation difference of 139 meters. It also disposes of a ski lift.

Sucevița

The Voievod slope in Sucevița is a red slope, with a medium level of difficulty and it is 600 meters long. It has an elevation level of 16% and an elevation difference of 88 meters. It disposes of a ski lift, night lights and snow guns.
